Liberty Party (LP) former Chairperson, Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa has signed a book of condolence of the founding political leader of LP, Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Headquarters of the party in Congo Town.
Following the signing of book of condolence, the Grand Kru County District #2 Representatives who is also a founding member of the party, Eulogized the late Statesman when he was alive-describing him as his mentor.
JFK as he is affectionately called, said among other things, the former Grand Bassa Senator under Charles Taylor was an incredible lawyer. Koffa asserts; “He was a mentor to me. I sat under his tutelage”.
Koffa served as Liberty Party’s national Chairman from 2012 to 2016 and later resigned as chairperson and member to join the Congress for Democratic Change now the ruling government.
According to him, he was one of the founding members that led the party to the 2005 Presidential and Legislative Elections and lost to former President Johnson Sirleaf.
As part of the ceremony marking the interment of the former lawyer, the signing of the book of condolence will be held at the Capitol Building on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 10, 2019.
The body of the remains will be removed from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home, and laid in State at the Rotunda of the Capitol Building on Thursday, December 12, 2019 and wake keeping will be held the same day at Bethel Cathedral of Hope in Congo Town, on Friday December 13, 2019 will be the funeral service which will be followed by interment in Grand Bassa County on Saturday Dec. 14, 2019.
