She said Ambassador Wetterqvist’s service to the nation and its people will always be remembered, while at the same time encouraged her to continue serving humanity as a ‘goodwill ambassador’ for Liberia’s peace and development.
“We need you to continue your goodwill by leading the advocacy on the need to advance the role and empowerment of women in Liberia, infrastructure development, with keen attention on roads connectivity, completing the efforts of President Weah and his government,” Amb. Endee appealed.
The LCP head added, “As our burning desire, we will continue to promote peace, women rights and democracy as we remain in the fight against Gender-based violence, as well as sexual exploitation and abuse.”
“On this occasion, we want to thank you for your remarkable contributions and service to Liberians, especially in the areas of peace, security, women leadership, empowerment, development, and social justice for our people and country,” she averred.
In response, Ambassador Wetterqvist lauded the LCP head and her team for the recognition, something she described as unprecedented, adding, “I have never been recognized in such a way in my entire life, so I am so very happy for this surprise.”
