The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) yesterday, May 8, 2025, continued its ongoing Sectoral Deep Dives, a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating budget execution and improving development delivery across key sectors of government at the Ministry of Health
The day-long event focused on the Ministry of Health, where Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan and his team were joined by Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto and her team.
This session reflects a hands-on approach by the government to closely align fiscal planning with sector-specific priorities, challenges, and performance.
The purpose of the sectoral Deep Dive is to enhance coordination between finance and line ministries, identify bottlenecks in budget implementation, ensure resources are effectively allocated and utilized for impactful results, strengthen service delivery, particularly in critical sectors like health.
With Liberia’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services, efficient use of budgeted funds is essential.
By engaging directly with the Ministry of Health, the Finance Ministry aims to track how allocated funds are being spent, address delays or inefficiencies in procurement, disbursement, and project execution and support the Health Ministry in meeting its service delivery targets.
This collaborative, performance-focused review underscores the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and faster results in public service.
