Demonstrations Engulf WBHO In Nimba

Aggrieved employees of WBHO have staged a protest in demand of salary increment, good working condition, among other things in Nimba.

 Speaking at the Ministry of Labor Office in Sanniquellie,   the workers alleged several counts leading to bad labour practices being carried out by the management of the company  against the workers and contractors respectively .

 According to the spokesman of the aggrieved workers, he alleged that the management of WBHO has refused to pay workers or contractors insurance benefits, salary increment, contract sheet agreement, couple with good working condition among other thing which triggered the protest.

 “We are suffering working under bad conditions that the government doesn’t know about. We want the government’s intervention, ”  the aggrieved workers lamented.

 “We the workers have unanimously agreed to not go to work until our demands are settled.  We submitted our demands already to the company that sparked the demonstrations, ” the WBHO aggrieved workers further stated.

 During a normal routine visit in Sanniquellie, the Ministry of Labor sub office was seen surrounded by a group of people as PSU Officers remained posted.

 When this paper contacted the manager of WBHO, Marcus TK via mobile phone on the issue, he remained tight-lipped on grounds that the case is still under investigation.

 When the Deputy Commissioner of MOL in Nimba, Sam Nepa Weh, was contacted. he   Confirmed the demonstration carried out by workers of WBHO workers coupled with investigations into eight counts complaint filed against the company.  When this paper contacted Alex C.  Suomie, on the issue, he remained tight-lipped on grounds that his bosses from Monrovia were in the county.
