The 8th judicial circuit court in Sanniquellie has handed down a verdict in the case of the United Methodist Church versus Global Methodist Church in Nimba with immediate effect.
Speaking at the court the clerk of court disclosed that on March 24, 2025, UMC filed in seven counts a lawsuit against Global Methodist Church calling for summary proceedings of their real estate situated in Gompa.
According to the judge of the 8th. Judiciary Circuit, Pape Suah, the Global Methodist Church responded with eight counts to the seven counts against Gompa UMC.
“In the defendant’s six counts against plaintiff, they speak about deception, frauds, against UMC in their presentation, therefore the case cannot be held in the absence of the trial jury that is responsible to determine the facts before going through the case,” Judge Suah ruled.
The case brought together UMC, Global Methodist Church, pastors assigned at various churches and its members to witness the ruling.
Judge Suah’s ruling of dismissing the case before the court on legal grounds under the law was climaxed with jubilations among Global Methodist Church members singing praises to God Almighty for winning the battle.
Speaking on behalf of Ganta United Methodist Senior High School, Principal James Korlorblee, said he is very happy about the court’s ruling to bring the case to rest.
When contacted, the newly appointed Methodist senior high school principal Zawolo Zuogele, hinted that the legal battle has just begun and that they will not accept the court’s ruling.
“The battle between Global Methodist Church and UMC has just begun, we will file an appeal to the supreme court,” Principal Zuogele pointed out.
