In an effort to improve education infrastructure, authorities in Bong County over the weekend officially broke ground for the construction of the Kolietawolah Junior High School in Electoral District #2 in the County.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Senator Prince K. Moye and District 2 Representative James Kolleh disclosed that the project comes as a result of a $75,000 allocation from the County Development Fund.
The lawmakers emphasized that the initiative is designed to ensure that the people of Kolietawolah benefit from both county-level and national government support.
“This is your project,” Senator Moye told residents. “We are encouraging everyone to take ownership and ensure it succeeds so that similar development can be replicated in other communities across the county”.
Representative James M. Kolleh echoed the sentiment, adding that community involvement will be vital for the timely and successful completion of the school.
Representing the Office of the County Superintendent, the County Administrative Officer, D Sam Baryougah Elliott Sr., reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering a modern, well-equipped junior high school.
He noted that Kolietawolah deserves better educational opportunities and pledged that construction will be completed before the start of the next academic year in September.
The official also extended gratitude to the Bong Legislative Caucus for its collaborative support in prioritizing educational development.
The event brought together community leaders, educators, and local residents, who celebrated the development as a long-awaited milestone for youth empowerment in the region. Edited

Boakai Presents L$2M To Salala Voting UP In 2023 Elections

Liberia President Joseph Boakai has provided L$2 million to residents of
Salala District 6, Bong County.
Making the disclosure on behalf of President Boakai, Senator Prince Kermue
Moye said that the L$ 2 million is intended to appreciate the District 6 residents
for voting for him in the 2023 general and presidential elections.
According to Senator Prince Kermue Moye, the Liberian Chief Executive was very proud of the
residents of Salala District for voting overwhelmingly two times in the first and second rounds of
the elections.
The Bong County Senator described the cash donated by Liberian President
as “an appreciation kola” for the work of the residents of District 6.
Moye revealed that the beneficiaries of the money include the Professional Teachers for
Boakai, the Muslim community, Youth for Boakai, the Pastoral Network, Motorcyclists, the
Media for Boakai, Commissioners, Paramount, Clan, and Town Chiefs, Market Women, Unity
Party Salala District chapter, Disabled Community, Students Community, among others.
Commenting at the ceremony on May 30, 2025, the District
Commissioner of Konawolalah Administrative District, Electoral District #6, Stephen Naimenie Binda, lauded President Boakai for the appreciation of kola.
He, at the same time, raised the issue of the lack of safe drinking water within various towns
and villages in Electoral District#6, thereby appealing for assistance from well-meaning citizens.
He further asked Senator Moye and the government of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for
assistance for the construction of a hospital in Salala District to cater to the healthcare needs of
the people.
He believes that when said hospital is built it will help to ease some of the difficulties citizens of
Salala and its surrounding Counties (Grand Bassa, Gbarpolu, and Margibi Counties) are going
through accessing healthcare.
Also, speaking at the ceremony, Bong County Superintendent Hawa Loleyah Norris expressed
gratitude to President Boakai through Senator Prince Kermue Moye for
organizing such an appreciation program for the people of Salala District.
The Bong County Superintendent further assured the citizens of Salala District that more
development will be done to enhance the living conditions of the citizens of Lower Bong
County.
The ceremony was intended by several local leaders, Deputy Ministers, and Assistant Ministers
appointed in the Boakai and Jeremiah Kpan Koung government from the County.
