Boakai Commissions Amb. Sheriff To Sierra Leone Mission

President Joseph Boakai has commissioned Bob Sheriff as Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Making remarks, President Boakai highlighted the strategic importance of Liberia’s longstanding bilateral relationship with Sierra Leone, urging Ambassador Sheriff to serve with “integrity, patriotism, and commitment” under the framework of the Mano River Union.
“You are being entrusted with a critical responsibility to represent Liberia’s interests, promote mutual cooperation, and deepen the historical, cultural, and economic bonds that unite our two nations,” the President stated.
He further charged Ambassador Sheriff to prioritize diplomatic engagement, economic diplomacy, and the welfare of Liberians residing in Sierra Leone.
In response, Ambassador Sheriff expressed gratitude to President Boakai for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to uphold Liberia’s foreign policy objectives and foster productive relations between Monrovia and Freetown.
He however, committed to prioritizing the welfare of Liberians in Sierra Leone and enhancing economic and cultural ties between the two nations, in line with Liberia’s renewed foreign policy direction.
The appointment comes as part of President Boakai’s broader diplomatic push under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, which seeks to revitalize Liberia’s foreign missions and promote effective regional and international engagement.
