In a groundbreaking move that underscore both progress and continuity in Liberian sports journalism, Liberian Sports International (LSI) has promoted Naneka Hoffman, an award-winning female journalist, to the position of Senior Chief Administrator.
The announcement follows the resignation of long-serving administrator Joseph M. Vincent on April 1, 2025. Vincent, a respected figure and multiple award-winning sports journalists, is departing to pursue a new career in Public Relations. His exit, initially mistaken by some as an April Fool’s prank, was later confirmed as a sincere decision to allow new leadership to emerge.
During his tenure, Vincent played a pivotal role in LSI’s rise as a premier voice in Liberian sports coverage. Speaking with LSI CEO Emmanuel Jipoh, he expressed heartfelt appreciation for his time at the organization and emphasized the importance of giving space for fresh perspectives and new talent.
“I believe it’s time for others to step in and help push the institution forward,” Vincent said, expressing confidence in Hoffman’s capabilities.
Naneka Hoffman, a seasoned journalist and longtime member of the LSI team, brings years of experience and a deep understanding of the Liberian sports landscape to her new leadership role. Her promotion is widely seen as a strategic step to ensure stability and momentum during a time of transition.
Hoffman, one of Liberia’s most celebrated female voices in sports journalism, is known for her bold storytelling, advocacy for women in sports, and commitment to excellence. Her appointment is being hailed as a milestone for female representation in sports media leadership.
“I’m honored to take up this challenge and to lead our dedicated staff as we continue to shine the spotlight on the achievements of Liberian athletes and promote sports development in our communities,” Hoffman said. “I look forward to building on the great work already laid down by my predecessor, Joseph Vincent.”
LSI management expressed full confidence in Hoffman’s leadership, noting her vision, dedication, and collaborative spirit as key assets during this new chapter.
As Hoffman steps into her new role, LSI also plans to expand its leadership team to support its growing portfolio, enhance community engagement, and elevate the profile of Liberian sports nationally and beyond.
The organization has meanwhile reaffirmed its commitment to remaining at the forefront of sports journalism and development, positioning itself as a key player in Liberia’s expanding athletic ecosystem.
