President Joseph Boakai has urged all citizens to uphold the spirit of Ramadan by demonstrating empathy, generosity, and solidarity, particularly in support for the less fortunate.
Speaking at the National Muslim Council’s Breaking Fast Dinner (IFTAR), President Boakai called on Liberians to pray for a peaceful, prosperous, and united nation where every citizen, regardless of faith or background, can thrive and contribute to collective progress.
The dinner, held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, brought together esteemed Islamic clerics, government officials, and distinguished members of the Muslim community.
The gathering aimed to foster unity, religious tolerance, and national development.
“Liberia is a land of diverse faiths and cultures, but we are one people, bound by a common destiny,” President Boakai stated.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering religious tolerance, ensuring equal opportunities for all, and strengthening the bonds that unite Liberians.
President Boakai also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community to Liberia’s growth and development.
He encouraged all citizens to embody the spirit of Ramadan by demonstrating empathy, generosity, and solidarity, particularly toward the less fortunate.
“As we break the fast together in this solemn and serene atmosphere, let us renew our commitment to love, justice, tolerance, and national unity,” he urged.
President Boakai highlighted the significance of the holy month of Ramadan as a time of deep reflection, devotion, and self-discipline.
He emphasized the importance of compassion, unity, and sacrifice in building a stronger and more inclusive Liberia.
