Team Wylie Sweeps Sarpo Elections, Wins 3 Out Of 4 Positions

Team Quiah Wylie has dominated the Sarpo Apoliebo Development Organization (SADO) elections, securing three out of four key leadership positions, including President, Secretary, and Financial Secretary while losing only the Treasury position to Viola Nyensuah, independent.
Two competing teams participated in the Monrovia-based elections: Team Wylie, which emerged victorious, and Team Diah, which failed to win any contested positions.
A total of 123 delegates representing the six sections of the Sarpo Tribe—Juarzon, Carbadae, Wedjah, Putu, Seekon, and Numopoh—participated in the voting process.
In the presidential race, Quiah Wylie defeated John T. Diah with 78 votes to 35, with 10 invalid ballots among the 123 votes cast.
For the Secretary position, Christopher N. Gbah of Team Wylie won against Ms. Cynthia Tugbah of Team Diah by 62 votes to 44, with 17 invalid votes.
Meanwhile, Hellena P. Normah of Team Wylie secured victory over Mrs. Philomina T. Kumorteh Gbaesah of Team Diah with 68 votes to 41, with 14 invalid votes for the Financial Secretary role.
Once inaugurated, the newly elected officials will serve the Sarpo people for three years, fulfilling their campaign promises and fostering development and unity among the Sarpo communities.
The elections were overseen by Gabriel P. Vanjah and his team of commissioners, along with the six sectional heads, including Tubman T. Saywon (Juarzon), E. Nyen Saylee (Carbadae), Harris G. Kamah (Wedjah), Milton J. Jargbah (Putu), Menjay Kroghi (Seekon), and Henry T. Sorjay (Numopoh).
Party observers included Morris Tailue and Tweh Garloe Karpeh for Team Wylie, while Meshach Prosper Kamah represented Team Diah. All observers and sectional heads praised the election commission for conducting a peaceful, fair, and transparent election, urging all supporters to accept the results.
“This election was credible, free, and fair. On behalf of the sectional heads, we are pleased with the results,” said Milton J. Jargbah, sectional head of Putu.
Meshach P. Kamah of Team Diah acknowledged the election’s transparency and fairness, stating, “I stand by the results and will not engage in any action that contradicts them.”
Similarly, Morris Tailue of Team Wylie commended the process, saying, “Everything went smoothly, without problems or disruptions. I am highly delighted with today’s election.”
Meanwhile, the United Sarpo Association in the Americas (USAA) has congratulated Quiah Wylie on his election victory, pledging to collaborate with the new leadership.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, the National Executive Committee, and all members of the United Sarpo Association in the Americas, President Frances Clarke Myers extends her warmest congratulations on your election as President (Chairman) of SADO,” the organization said.
