Representative Alfred Flomo of Electoral District 4 in Grand Bassa County has donated L$100,000 to the Garwar family, who recently lost their home in a devastating fire.
The financial assistance is meant to help the family address their immediate needs as they begin the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives.
Flomo also pledged to lead efforts for the full reconstruction of their home, ensuring they have a secured place to live.
“I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident that befell the Garwar family, and I stand with them during this difficult time,” said Flomo. “I am committed to ensuring that their home is rebuilt and that they have all the resources needed to start afresh.”
In addition to assisting the fire victims, Flomo extended his support to the Muslim community in Wee District as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.
The lawmaker donated L$75,000 to aid in religious observances and celebrations, underscoring his commitment to fostering religious unity and support.
Flomo announced a historic milestone for healthcare in Wee District, the construction of the district’s first-ever maternity center.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Ceiah Clinic.
“Wee District has long awaited this vital healthcare facility, and I am proud to be part of this historic moment,” Flomo stated. “This center will serve as a beacon of hope for mothers and children in the district.”
The maternity center is expected to significantly improve maternal and child healthcare in the area, reducing the risks associated with childbirth and providing essential medical services for expectant mothers.
Flomo confirmed that ArcelorMittal Liberia has agreed to rehabilitate the Bassa-Gio Road, a key route connecting Grand Bassa County to neighboring regions.
The improvement of this road is anticipated to enhance accessibility, facilitate trade, and foster economic growth.
“As part of my continued commitment to improving infrastructure in our region, I am thrilled that ArcelorMittal Liberia has agreed to take on the rehabilitation of the Bassa- Gio Road,” Flomo said. “This will go a long way in connecting our communities and fostering development.”
