Rep. Banks Boosts Healthcare In Bassa

In a move to strengthen healthcare services across Grand Bassa County, Representative Clarence Banks of District two has donated vital medical equipment valued at approximately US$12,000 to several health facilities in the region.
The donation, which includes delivery beds, birthing chairs, sterilization units, and laboratory furniture, was distributed to the Sinyah Clinic, St. John Clinic, Tubmanville Clinic, District two Clinic, and the Liberian Government Hospital. The gesture, according to Rep. Banks, is part of his ongoing commitment to improve access to quality healthcare for his constituents.
“I cannot sit by while my people struggle to receive proper medical care,” Rep. Banks stated during the handover ceremony. “This donation is just one step in my larger vision to uplift the health system in Grand Bassa.”
Rep. Banks was joined by his wife, a professional nurse, and his daughter, a practicing medical doctor, as a show of both familial and professional commitment to the cause.
Their presence, he said, symbolized a shared responsibility to serve and support the community beyond political boundaries.
Local officials and community members welcomed the initiative, with Grand Bassa County Superintendent Karyou Johnson commending the representative’s leadership.
“This support is timely and aligns perfectly with President Joseph Boakai’s development agenda,” Johnson remarked. “It shows that Representative Banks is serious about delivering on his promises.”
The donation marks a continuation of Rep. Banks’ campaign commitments to prioritize health and development in his district. Residents hope this contribution will not only improve maternal care and general health services but also serve as a model for other leaders across the country.
As healthcare remains a key concern in many parts of rural Liberia, stakeholders praised the effort as a meaningful intervention, one that could significantly reduce the strain on under-resourced clinics and hospitals.
“This is not just a donation it’s a lifeline for our people,” said Martha Moore a midwife at the Tubmanville Clinic, noting the lack of basic equipment that has plagued operations for years.
With this latest move, Representative Banks reinforces his reputation as a lawmaker focused not only on legislation but on tangible improvements in the lives of those he represents.
