Police Declares Blama Wright, Associates Wanted

By Precious D. Freeman
The Liberia National Police (LNP) has officially declared several individuals wanted for their alleged involvement in a series of violent and unlawful acts in the Louisiana area of Montserrado County.
The accused are said to have orchestrated a wave of intimidation, illegal land occupation, and the forceful eviction of residents from their communities.
The individuals declared wanted include: Blama Wright (identified as the head of the group), Boakai Massaquoi, Sadu Bar, Didia, Asante, S.K. (name currently incomplete based on ongoing investigation) Others yet to be identified.
The LNP says these individuals are accused of forcibly removing peaceful residents from their homes using firearms, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons, under the pretext of reclaiming land ownership.
The violent attacks have reportedly left many families homeless, traumatized, and fearful for their lives.
“These are not just acts of land dispute they are organized and criminal actions that have violated the rights of innocent people,” LNP Inspector General Gregory Coleman. “We will not allow lawlessness and intimidation to continue in our communities under any circumstance.”
IG Coleman added that the forceful evictions occurred without any legal authority or court mandate and that the perpetrators have shown blatant disregard for the rule of law.
Eyewitnesses in the Louisiana area describe the scenes as chaotic, with several families fleeing their homes in fear as armed individuals stormed neighborhoods during the night.
Residents claim that their homes were vandalized, personal belongings looted, and some community members injured during the confrontations.
“People were crying, running—some of us had to sleep in the bushes,” said a displaced resident, who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons. “We don’t know where to go or who to turn to.”
Local leaders and advocacy groups have condemned the attacks and called for urgent government’s intervention to safeguard displaced residents and prosecute those responsible.
The LNP has issued a strong warning to the public not to engage in any form of business, association, or collaboration with the wanted individuals. They are considered armed, dangerous, and a threat to public safety.
“We are urging anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of these individuals to come forward,” IG Coleman stated. “You can report to any nearby police station or contact the LNP hotline. Your identity will be protected.”
Police say investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to track down all suspects and restore peace to the affected communities.
The LNP has also begun coordinating with community watch teams, local officials, and humanitarian groups to provide temporary relief to displaced residents.
The situation in Louisiana is yet another reminder of the broader challenges surrounding land disputes in Liberia, many of which have historical roots and legal ambiguities.
However, authorities maintain that no dispute however complex justifies violence or unlawful actions.
The Liberia National Police reaffirmed its dedication to upholding peace and order and pledged to use all legal means to ensure the safety and security of Liberians across the country
