Phebe Hospital Benefits From JNB Foundation Medical Supplies

The Joseph Nyuma Boakai Foundation has donated a substantial consignment of assorted medical supplies to the Phebe Referral Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County; bringing to three, the number of public facility that have benefitted from the Foundation’s gesture.
JNB Foundation aimed is to aid and support sustainable agriculture production and food security, healthcare service delivery, the provision of quality and affordable education, training of youths and gender development, provision of safe drinking water and the protection of the environment.
The donation which was delivered on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, includes essential items such as hospital bed linens, surgical caps, laryngoscopes, oxygen tank regulators, oximeters, stethoscopes, among others.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Executive Director of the JNB Foundation, Jackson George emphasized the foundation’s commitment to enhancing healthcare in Bong County.
Mr. George stressed that the distribution is part of a larger consignment valued at $450,000, acquired by the JNB Foundation from CURE, a U.S.-based charity project based in Colorado.
The JNB Foundation Executive Director further revealed that the entity made similar donation to other government-run hospitals across Liberia, including the Phebe Referral Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County, C H. Rennie Hospital in Kakata, Margibi County, Redemption Hospital in Montserrado County.
He said the Foundation’s will also donate to the Government Hospital in Bomi County very soon adding, “We are here to supplement government efforts in providing healthcare delivery to the people. We intend to partner with the hospital to do more.”
The JNB Foundation Executive Director further placed the estimated cost of the medical supplies donated to the Phebe Referral Hospital as US$ 175, 000.
Mr. George said the significance of the donation is to provide medical supplies and equipment the various hospitals something he said, is crucial for critical medical procedures in the various hospitals in Liberia.
He further noted that the Foundation’s will continued to support the healthcare needs of Liberians.
Meanwhile, Mr. George presented the full list of the donated items to the Medical Director of the Phebe hospital, to ensure transparency and accountability to the general public and the donors.
Taking delivery of the items donated, the Medical Director of Phebe Referral Hospital, Minnie Sankawolo-Ricks, expressed profound gratitude to the JNB Foundation and its founder, for the donation.
The Phebe Referral Hospital Medical Director revealed that the donated items will help to buttress the Hospital administration efforts in saving lives, when they are in dying in the county.
She expressed hope for continued support from the foundation to enhance healthcare services for the people of Bong County and Liberia at large.
Bong County Health Team Officer, Jefferson Sibley lauded the Foundation for the initiatives, describing it as a great relief for the Phebe Referral Hospital Administration and the Bong County Health Team.
He further revealed that these are some medical equipment that the Phebe Hospital Administration have been looking forward to get at the hospital.
Dr. Sibley at the same assured the donor that the supplies donated would be used for the intended purpose.
However, several patients at the hospital said the donation comes as critical support to the Phebe Referral Hospital, when they are finding it difficult to get treatment.
