The Nimba County police detachment has disclosed an ongoing investigation into the death of 22 year-old Lucius Siafa, in Yekepa, Nimba County.
Speaking to this media outlet, CSD Emmanuel Grausie revealed that preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim died in a fist fight with suspect Elijah Dennis, aged 24, both residents of Yekepa.
According to the police, it was established that the victim hailed from Grand Cape Mount County and the incident occurred on January 14, 2025 in Yekepa.
“During police preliminary investigations, suspect Elijah Dennis admitted that he mistakenly hit the victim with a piece of plank that led to his death and beg for mercy”, investigator Grausie said.
” Police have charged Elijah Dennis with murder in violations of the revised penal code of the law, sub chapter A section 14. 1,” CSD Grausie intimated.
Speaking further, the police reported that the victim’s body has been turned over to family members for burial, while suspect Elijah Dennis has been transferred to court for prosecution.
When this paper contacted the court in Sanniquellie over the weekend, the receptionist explained that the County Attorney, John Miah, was out of the office.
“The opening of the February Term of court is drawing closer and the County Attorney is very busy preparing for the opening of court,” the receptionist said.
