The Liberia National Police (LNP) has charged a 14 year-old minor with murder and sent him to court for prosecution in Nimba county.
Speaking to the Inquirer Newspaper, police explained that the suspect allegedly shot and killed Andrew Johnson with a single barreled gun while playing with the weapon on the farm.
The Police have established that the incident occurred on March 24, 2025, at Moses Saye Village in electoral district 9 in the county.
“The victim was taken to Zekepa Health Center and was pronounced dead by the OIC Hellena Weh Johnson upon arrival at the clinic,” said police investigators.
“The victim’s relatives reported the case to police in Tappita that a little boy allegedly shot his friend with a single barreled gun while in the village in Kpowin Town in electoral district 9,” the police said.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mendin Larmie, confirmed the incident and further disclosed that five suspects have been charged and sent to court for prosecution.
He referred the paper to the Police Crime Services Division(CSD) for details of the story .
When contacted over the weekend , the CSD office in Sanniquellie, confirmed that T-oy Moses , aged 14 years has been charged with murder and along with five persons in connection with the death of the victim and referred the paper to CSD commander Emmanuel Grausie.
The confirmation made by the ACP Mendin Larmie that five persons were charged along with T-Boy Moses and sent to court is yet to be independently verified by this paper.
An attempt to contact CSD commander Grausie for verification of the case proved futile as a CSD officer at the office disclosed that his boss has gone in the field and will be back in the evening.
When this paper contacted the court over the weekend in Sanniquellie, the Bailiff of the court revealed that City Solicitor Roland Dolo is in court and asked the paper to come back on a later date. Meanwhile, an investigation by the Inquirer continues.
