Man Arrested For Allegedly Setting Ablaze RIA’s Perimeter

Security authorities assigned at the Roberts International Airport have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly setting ablaze the perimeter of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) late Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect, identified as Abenego Kollie, was caught out of the perimeter of the Roberts International Airport trying to flee the crime scene after the incident.
“This incident is under investigation, and we are taking it very seriously as it posed a significant threat to both airport operations and public safety,” LAA Authority confirmed.
Suspect Abenego Kollie is currently being held in police custody while investigation is still ongoing.
LAA has advised the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around the airport.
“Suspect Abenego Kollie has been turned over to the Liberia National Police for further investigation as we are looking into any possible accomplices or motives. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our passengers and staff. We will work closely with law enforcement to enhance our security measures following this alarming event”, LAA stated.
The Liberia Airport Authority disclosed that the Fire Service Department quickly responded to extinguish the fire as way to avoid any significant damage.
