Keep Rep. Fahnbulleh Off Administrator’s Appointment At Bong Mines Hospital -Residents Decry

A group under the banner, “Concerned Citizen of Fuamah” is calling on the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Health, Martha Morris, and Minister Louise M. Kpoto to not accept a recommendation from Representative Foday E. Fahnbulleh regarding the appointment of the Administrator of the Bong Mines Hospital in Fuamah District 7, Lower Bong County.
According to sources within the hospital, the Administrator of Bong Mines Hospital, Maclarence A. David, was recently recalled by the Ministry of Health thus creating vacuum in the hospital.
The aggrieved residents through their Chairman, David Gbalai Flomo II, alleged that Representative Fahnbulleh is currently running in the corridors of the Ministry of Health in order to appoint his Human Resource Officer (HR), Alexander T. Kukah.
The residents are expressing dissatisfaction over the decision, emphasizing that effective management is essential to improving healthcare delivery, particularly when the hospital is struggling to provide proper healthcare needs for the people in Fuamah District.
They noted that the health services at the hospital could be at risk when proper financial management and administrative skills are not put in place, and the Lawmaker could influence the running of the hospital.
“The health services administrator is not just a healthcare professional; they must be able to manage budgets, make strategic decisions, and lead a team,” said Mr. Flomo, “We need someone with a proven track record in managing health systems, not just someone who has served as mere Human Resource Officer in the Offices of Rep. Fahnbulleh.”
The concerned residents of Fuamah District through their, Chairman Flomo are recommending to Health Minister Kpoto and her Deputy Minister for Administration, Martha Morris, that they should look in the administration at the hospital for a qualified and competent person to occupy the position of Administrator at the Bong Mines Hospital.
Moreover, they revealed that if there’s no qualified person within the hospital to serve in the position, the Ministry can place the vacancy up for other qualified people to apply instead of accepting Rep. Fahnbulleh’s Human Resource Officer.
The Fuamah residents, at the same time, have accused Rep. Fahnbulleh of influencing the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the appointment of local leaders from his political camp into district leadership.
They alleged that the current District Commissioner , Hampton Giddings, Paramount Chief, David Kollie, of Fuamah District, William Yeakai – Clan Chief – Zaweakomu Clan, Fuamah District, among others, are all from the political camp of Rep. Fahnbulleh, adding that said local leaders are only working at the will of the lawmaker instead of the residents.
the aggrieved residents further alleged that Rep. Fahnbulleh recently removed the headquarters’ general Town Chief and the Clan Chief of the Dobli Clan and replaced them with two of his team’s members.
This sentiment has resonated strongly throughout the district leading to vocal opposition against speculation of the appointment of the lawmaker ‘s Human Resource Officer as Administrator of the Bong Mines Hospital.
The residents have meanwhile threatened to organize protests actions if authorities proceed with the appointment, further fueling tensions in an already divisive situation in the district regarding the removal of some leaders.
They claim that several qualified individuals from Fuamah District could step into this role, bringing the necessary skills and experience to move the Bong Mines Hospital health services forward.
As the controversy continues to unfold, tensions remain high, and the question of who ultimately takes charge as an administrator of the Bong Mines Hospital remains unanswered.
However, when Rep. Fahnbulleh was called up regarding the allegations, his phone rang endlessly, while also failing to respond to the text message sent to him either.
