Fire Incident Stalls Normal Activities In Nimba

A blue jeep on February 17, 2025, gutted fire in Gompa, Nimba County, leaving residents in a state of confusion.
The incident which brought normal activities to a standstill, occurred at Guinea road intersection in Gompa City, Nimba County .
The incident occurred when the driver of the vehicle was on a test drive going towards the Gompa police station when the incident occurred, according to eye witnesses.
The burning of the vehicle on the main street brought normal activities to a standstill for fear of fire disaster or fire related incident.
Since the beginning of 2025, two gas stations, including seven and eight bedrooms’ buildings have been burnt by fire pending investigations at the Liberia National fire service in the County. The causes of the fire remain yet unknown.
During a normal routine on the main street in Gompa, the burnt frame of the vehicle has been removed from the area.
When contacted, police in Gompa explained that they receive a telephone call during the incident, but case is still under investigation to established the cause leading to the fire.
” The traffic police commander that responded on the scene is out, but the case is still under investigation. But we can say for now, the fire gutted inside the vehicle before coming out,” LNP traffic officer said.
The issue of fire outbreak poses a serious threat to the bustling city of Gompa and this should claim the attention of the relevant authorities so as to combat the repeated fire threat in the county.
