DNA Accepts Supreme Court Ruling ..Cautions Others To Abide

The Democratic National Allegiance (DNA), as a political Party has announced its acceptance of the April 23, 2025 Supreme Court ruling affirming J. Fonati Koffa as the legitimate Speaker of the 55th Legislature, emphasizing its commitment to the rule of law and national unity.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, DNA Political Leader William Tuider reaffirmed the party’s belief in democratic principles and constitutional governance. Tuider described the court’s ruling as an opportunity for Liberians to demonstrate maturity, respect for institutions, and a shared vision for progress.
“The foundation of any truly democratic and prosperous nation is the rule of law—not the rule of men,” Tuider said in the statement. “If we are serious about moving Liberia forward, we must be governed by principles, not individuals.”
Tuider acknowledged the political and legal tension surrounding the speakership but stressed that the true victory lies not in the outcome of the ruling, but in the nation’s collective response to it.
“Regardless of who wins or loses in any legal decision, the true victory is found in how we respond—with dignity, unity, and a renewed commitment to peace and dialogue,” he added.
The Supreme Court’s ruling on Tuesday ended weeks of political uncertainty and internal disputes in the House of Representatives, solidifying Rep. Koffa’s position as Speaker.
The court’s decision was met with varied reactions across the political landscape, but the DNA Party’s swift response has been praised by some as a model of responsible democratic behavior.
Tuider called on all Liberians, including supporters, political rivals, and citizens alike to prioritize national interest over personal or partisan gain.
“This is the moment for all of us—regardless of our political differences—to rise above personal interests and unite for the good of Liberia,” he stated, reinforcing the party’s motto: “Country Before Self.”
The DNA leader also used the opportunity to shift focus toward the broader challenges facing the country, urging all stakeholders to begin the critical work of governance and development.
“We must begin, without delay, the real work of nation-building: creating job opportunities, restoring dignity to our people, and ensuring every Liberian can support their family and live with dignity,” Tuider said.
He further urged calm, civility, and full respect for the Supreme Court’s decision, encouraging Liberians to demonstrate that their democracy is grounded in respect for institutions and the rule of law.
“Let us demonstrate that Liberia can be a nation where laws are respected, institutions are trusted, and leaders serve with integrity. This is how we begin the journey to rebuild a strong, fair, and prosperous Liberia—for all,” Tuider cautioned.
