Church Boys Face Unmerciful Defeat as Warriors Shine in Dominant Victory

By S. Siapha Mulbah

March 2025 kicked off with a painful defeat for Jubilee Football Club as they suffered a crushing 7-1 loss to Blackman Warriors in the quarterfinals of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) FA Cup. The Church Boys, despite their impressive performances in the national second division league this season, were no match for the robust and determined Blackman Warriors, who relentlessly displayed their dominance to secure a spot in the semifinals.

The match, held at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville City, was a one-sided affair from start to finish, with Blackman Warriors delivering a blistering performance. The Warriors’ attack was led by the red-hot Benjamin Sarkoh, who scored an astonishing four goals in the first half, showcasing his clinical finishing and making the task all but impossible for Jubilee.

By halftime, Blackman Warriors had already taken a commanding 6-0 lead, with Sarkoh adding a double brace, and additional goals from Prince Mator, Elijah Reeves, and Siaffa Freeman. The dominance of the Warriors in the opening 45 minutes highlighted the defensive frailties of Jubilee FC, who struggled to contain their more experienced opponents.

Despite the heavy scoreline, Jubilee FC tried to regroup in the second half, but Blackman Warriors maintained their relentless pressure. Elijah Reeves capped off the performance with a seventh goal to seal the game at 7-1, completing an emphatic victory for the Warriors.

The defeat marked Jubilee FC’s heaviest loss of the season, and though they have shown great promise in the second division, they were unable to cope with the challenge posed by Blackman Warriors, a team from a higher league. The result sends Blackman Warriors into the semifinals, where they will be looking to continue their fine form and push for the title.

Coach Sam Chebli and his team have shown exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition, and their resounding victory over Jubilee FC has set expectations high for their semifinal clash. The Warriors are now firmly in the hunt for the prestigious FA Cup title and are emerging as one of the most formidable teams in the competition. With their powerful attacking display and solid team performance, Blackman Warriors are a team to watch as they advance to the next stage of the FA Cup. Fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an exciting semifinal as the Warriors continue their pursuit of glory in the 2024/2025 season.
