PRESIDENT JOSEPH BOAKAI has urged newly commissioned diplomats to represent Liberia with dedication, integrity, and a profound sense of national pride.
SPEAKING DURING THE commissioning ceremony held at the Executive Mansion on March 4, 2025, President Boakai emphasized that diplomacy is not merely a temporary role but a lifelong commitment to serving the country’s interests.
ACCORDING TO HIM, diplomats carry the image of their nation. “No other nation can build Liberia for us; it is our responsibility,” President Boakai stated.
HE REMINDED THE appointees that public office is not about personal ambition but about serving the Liberian people, who have placed their trust in them.
DIPLOMATS ARE MEANT to serve their countries, their service should be driven by a deep sense of responsibility, not personal ambition, because effective diplomacy requires building trust, advocating for national policies, and ensuring that Liberia’s voice is heard on global platforms.
WE CALL ON the newly commissioned diplomats to embrace their roles with the highest level of commitment, integrity, and patriotism because as representatives of Liberia, they must understand that their actions abroad reflect the nation’s image and aspirations.
WE URGE THEM to prioritize the nation’s interests in all diplomatic engagements and by actively seeking opportunities that promote Liberia’s development, strengthen international partnerships, and uphold the country’s dignity.
LIBERIA’S PROGRESS DEPENDS on the dedication of its representatives and that’s why It is crucial that these diplomats rise to the challenge, serve with honor, and prove that they are worthy of the trust placed in them.
OUR CONSIDERED VIEW is that to succeed, these diplomats must engage in meaningful dialogue, foster economic and political cooperation, and protect the rights and welfare of Liberians abroad, thereby proving that they are practical and not hypothetical in all their diplomatic engagements.
