The court sheriff backed by the Liberia National Police (LNP) over the weekend raided the central office of Q- Net in the Commercial City of Ganta, Nimba County.
Q- Net is believed to be a licensed and registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the objective of promoting the lives of common people in terms of business skills, coupled with other incentives upon completing training and registration prescribed by the management to become members.
CSD Officers working in collaboration with the LNP assigned at the Police Station in Ganta told this paper that one Maybeh Tiawon, complained that one of Q- Net’s workers, Josephine Mulbah, allegedly took away LD. 60, 000 from her under false pretense in the name of acquiring Q- Net’s membership to be trained as an agent for the organization after which she will be made to receive an incentive every month and to also encourage friends to register with Q- Net.
The LNP named Fastidious I. Varney, Josephine Mulbah, Mariam S. Abu and Josephus Doleh as workers of Q- Net who have been collecting an amount of US$1,250 for overseas scholarship to travel to Ghana and US$750 for business to receive supply from Q- Net central headquarters in U.S. A.
LNP’s preliminary investigation revealed that Q- Net is a registered entity operating in Monrovia, but those working with Q- Net assigned in Nimba are falsely, criminally, using the name of Q- Net by collecting money from people under false pretense for over sea scholarship to travel to Ghana for studies with compensation attached while attending college.
Recently LNP arrested several staff of Q- Net including Josephus Doleh and charged them with theft; receiving money under false pretense and were arraigned before the court in Ganta, Nimba County.
Police told this paper that Josephus Doleh recommended several persons to Q- for scholarship to travel to Ghana and that he is studying in Ghana which was a mere scam or 419 designed to exploit money from innocent people.
When this paper contacted the City Solicitor, Stephen Quoi, at the Magisterial Court in Ganta, he confirmed the seizure of office equipment based on complaint levied against Q- Net and all properties seized during the search warrant carried out, backed by the Police while the matter is presently before the court for adjudication.
