The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has commenced a three-day onboarding interactive training workshop bringing together approximately 345 staff from Monrovia and other satellite offices across the country including employees from other Ministries and Agencies.
The workshop is organized by the Devine Corporation in collaboration with Jafain Consortium, Inc. focused on general administrative policies and guidelines and human resource policies for the LLA staff and other institutions’ employees across the country is currently taking place in Sinkor.
The workshop further brought face-to-face over several employees from different line ministries and agencies including the LLA Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, Atty J. Adams Manobah and P. Bloh Sayeh including the Devine Corporation’s Chairperson, Charles E. Collins and Mona Stubblefield-Smith, among others.
At the opening of the workshop yesterday, Atty Manobah warned the participants to prioritize the jobs they do with passion at the Authority and other respective work places, because according to him, several employees have not taken office at the county level.
According to him, since the appointment of some of the employees in the counties, they are reneging on occupying their posts and advised that if the various posts are not occupied within the Civil Service Agency’s stipulated time, said positions will be occupied by other qualified and passionate Liberians.
He added that the LLA under his leadership along with the Board of all of the Commissioners have no intention of sacking or replacing any of the employees and therefore it is incumbent that all staff who have been assigned to other counties begin to go to report to work regularly.
Chairman Manobah then used the occasion to applaud the Government of Liberia and its international partners including the World Bank for the level of support in ensuring that the workshop is a reality while at the same time admonishing participants to remember that at least 25 percent of what will be taught by the various facilitators is for the improvement and growth of their respective institutions.
The LAA Vice-Chairperson, P. Bloh Sayeh lauded her team for the timely organization of the workshop, something she said is at the bedrock of the LAA’s improvement and growth.
The LAA was established by an Act of the National Legislature in October of 2016, as an “autonomous” agency to formulate land policies, laws, and programs as well as implement related activities and according to the Commissioner for Administration; since then, the LAA has made significant strides in meeting up to its obligation amidst the many challenges.
The LLA is also a conglomeration of the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy (MLME); the Ministry of Public Works (MPW); the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Center for National Document and Record Agency (CNDRA).
