The Liberia National Fire Service Chief (LNFS), Col. Alex Dickson has urged his firefighters to remain steadfast as they continue to save the lives of all Liberians.
Col. Dickson among other things admonished his men that their primary responsibility to the nation is to fight against every fire outbreak throughout the country and as such they should remain firm and committed to their oath taken.
Speaking during its first 2021 General Muster held over the weekend at the Barclay Training Center in Monrovia, the LNFS boss narrated that their mission and goal is to ensure that all Liberians are free and protected from fire outbreak, be it political or religious affiliation.
According to him, though Liberians many at times usually complain about the time it takes before response from the LNFS not knowing the many challenges firefighters normally go through; and stated that this year’s Muster signals a new dimension to the LNFS response especially with the collaboration with the My-Watchman Company.
He added that the new technology which help one notice a fire outbreak at the early stage will help the LNFS hastily respond to any outbreak at the appropriate time throughout the country, noting that it will also help minimize the many injure firefighters have to receive during every fire incident.
The fire boss however further applauded President Weah and his entire government mainly the Justice Minister, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean for the level of support received so far in ensuring the improvement and betterment of the LNFS, while at the same time called on other donor partners to support the LNFS logistically for the sake of the of diplomatic relation.
Earlier, My-Watchman CEO, Oliver W. Klark lauded the LNFS for the spirit of collaboration exhibited so far and thereby promised his company’s fullest support ensuring that the issue of fire outbreak becomes a history for Liberia.
The commencement of the General Muster being practiced by the National Fire Service was firstly introduced by the fire Chief, Col. Alex Dickson during his first year in office as the LNFS Director General and since then, it has been the LNFS annual activity which is also intended to give the status, financial report, and overall activities of the institution so as to prepare firefighters for the ensuing year ahead.
