The family of the aggrieved judiciary employees’ spokesperson, Archie Ponpon has called on the government of Liberia, other humanitarian organizations including well-meaning Liberians to get to the aid of their ailing son.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, November 4, the younger brother of Mr. Ponpon, Emmanuel Jipoh lamented that since the incident, his elder brother’s condition is said to be worsening by the day and has been lying at the John F. Kennedy Referral Hospital without any medical attention given him.
According to Jipoh, the Government’s owned referral hospital said that they do not have equipment to treat his brother something he stated has left them frustrated and disappointed thereby prompting the family to launch the SOS call in order for his brother’s life be saved.
He added that his elder brother, Ponpon is going through an unbearable agony as a result of the burns, noting that it will require further and advanced treatment in order for his brother to be normal like before.
Though Jipoh did not really disclose the actual amount needed for his brother’s treatment but stated, “My brother really needs help. His condition is worsening day-by-day and our family is not financially potent to give him the needed treatment.”
Meanwhile, Jiepoh is also calling on President Weah, First Lady Clar Weah, Chief Justice Korpor and others to see reason in helping his brother get the needed/required treatment out of the country.
It can be recalled that on Monday, Archie Ponpon, a staff of the Temple of Justice set himself ablaze in demand of salary and benefits owed him and other employees by the Judiciary.
