MDR Condemns Youth League For Statement Against President Weah

The Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) has condemn its Youth League for the recent statement made against President George Weah in terms of employment.
The MDR frowned at its youth league for saying that Nimbians are not being prioritized under the Weah-led administration through appointments as compared to other counties.
Addressing a news conference at his MDR office in Congo Town on yesterday, the MDR Secretary General, Wilfred Bangura, described the statements from one of their auxiliaries as false and misleading which has no iota of truth, admitting that there are many Nimbians in top government positions in this regime.
According to Bangura, since the inception of the CDC-led government, Nimbians have benefited from more top governmental positions ranging from both minister, deputy and assistant ministers as well as commissioners, contrary to the assertions made by their youth league.
He believed that the statement is somehow politically motivated describing it as baseless and irresponsible which the party sees as nothing more than a propaganda stunt conceived by sheer ignorance of political dynamics of the day and born of pure youthful exuberance.
Mr. Bangura further stated that the relationship between the government and the MDR since their collaboration is still strong and reflecting, emphasizing, “President Weah and his government is supportive to us and as such, we too need to support the President and his agenda for the forward march and development of the country.”
“Let us not forget that as long as Weah is President of this country and his administration endures, there will always be appointments in government and our people will ultimately acquire the opportunity to contribute to the development of the nation-state,” the MDR SG stated.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bangura has further disclosed that the National Executive Committee of the MDR has taken the necessary steps internally and in keeping with their constitution to avert the recurrence of said behavior on the part of their Youth League or any auxiliary of their party.
It can be recalled, recently, some members of the MDR Youth League and other prominent citizens of the county have been heavily criticizing President Weah for not appointing more of their kinsmen in his government despite the support received from the county during the 2017 presidential election.
