I have been living in Liberia for 42 years. I’ve seen and experienced a lot, April 6, April 12, Rice Riot, student protests, political protests, the horror of Ebola and now the Corona virus.
The battles/wars within and among nations have been going on since man was created and divided in Genesis. Territories, languages and cultural differences begun to evolve.
“The whole earth was of one language, and of one speech And it came to pass, as they journeyed for the east that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
2 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
3 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
4 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
5 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
6 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
7 So the LORD scattered them abroad form thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
8 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”9 (Genesis 11:1-9)
We have now evolved and developed, into a multicultural world with various borders with shared resources.
The wars within and among mankind started from the garden and shall continue until Jesus comes! It is the battle for the souls of mankind! “And Twill put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy heed, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
The fruit was good to eat, pleasant to the eyes, which will cause you, to become a god (powerful, wise, and in charge).
The desire to become more and not what you were created for has produced selfishness, greed, strife, anarchy, and wars within the family, society, the nations and the world. It is passed from generation to generation.
You cannot kill it, burn it or can it be exterminated, by any human effort. Paul said, when I would do good, evil is always there. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in US. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the Sons of God.” (Romans 8:18-19)
Some wars within the nations are called: Human Rights by world’s experts, such as:
women’s rights, gay rights, the right of a child, freedom of speech, political freedom, religious freedom, civil rights, etc…
Nations have won battles within their nations for change, but the struggles continue today, women, children, blacks, whites, the poor, the old, disabled and in the political arena, but have not yet won the war, for equality, social justice, democracy and freedom of speech etc…
We are co-dependent on each other the world over, for survival, peace, the pursuit of happiness and wellness!
It cannot be to make America great again! France great again! Sweden great again! and the list goes on of nations around the world. Nations open borders and nations close borders, trying to be safe, strong and have peace and stability, within and without.
If all of our human efforts, the world over: governments, UN, WHO, laws, principles and achievements were working for a more perfect world, why are we today in such of a mess? The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverb 14:12)
The wars within ourselves, reflect, who we are as a people, by reason of one man, a group of men/women. It always reveals the heart of man, which causes oppression, depression, injustices, war of words, hate, prejudices, rebellions, civil wars and world wars!
The case of the late George Floyd, of the USA, is a good example of prejudice which we have learned and known for a fact that, prejudice comes in all colors, it is not the color trait, but a matter of the heart, it wraps itself in many forms: rich, educated, positions, tribes, my family name and much more: these all cause us to reject or accept one another and/or whether you will be treated as equal or included in the pursuit of peace, happiness and justice for all.
Israel after all these years of gaining their biblical given inheritance has yet to find peace. The spirit of the heart of the nations against her and to her, has yet to be reconciled and to accomplish peace in that God given nation!
Most of our nations where discovered and conquered over duration of many centuries of time. Battles/wars, civil unrests have always plagued the human race, because of the fallen nature of man.
We cannot pass any law that will change mankind unruly-heart It may be controlled and for a while, kept at a minimum or go under cover in subtle ways, but never gotten rid of.
The war within and among nations cannot be eradicated by guns, bombs, missiles, defense systems, great armies. Look at world now! We are sitting on a Time Bomb and crying peace, why can’t we all get along?
Jesus has done for man, what he cannot do for himself. All the world’s me, myself and I will not become a winner!
We are not able to establish peace, without Christ as Commander and Chief of our lives, nations and the world. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
The final days are pressing in on mankind. Fear, pestilences, no peace, no justice, no money, no food, no job and hopeless is plaguing many all over the world! “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.7 All these are the beginning of sorrows8 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days.19 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:2° For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.2′ And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”22 (Matthew 24:7-8, 19-22)
