37 Burkinabes Enter Nimba

Fear has gripped residents of Kparblee District in Nimba County over the illegal crossing of Burkinabes into the country.
Information gathered that the Burkinabes who crossed over at the various border entries have established camps in towns along the Kparblee belt.
Elder Peter Tiah said that some Burkinabes have crossed border in Kparblee District, electoral District # six and are working for people as contractors to give them piece of land to build their homes.
Elder Peter Tiah added that many of them had over 30 brand- new Yamaha 100 and other motorcycles and were dishing out huge cash to elders of the towns to allow them remain in the district to carry out normal activities in the county.
The District Commissioner, Henry D. Korso, confirmed the arrival of Burkinabes and pointed accusing fingers at community members of bringing them as contractors without contacting the proper authority in the county.
Korso added that 12 Burkinabes reported themselves to the office of the Commissioner upon arrival in the district, but the others are not cooperating with the authority in the district.
When contacted, the Commander of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Yea Dolopaye disclosed reports of 37 Burkinabes crossing Butuo and dishing out huge cash to citizens.
LIS Boss Lady Dolopaye added that the LIS Commander assigned in Tappita visited the district and gave many of the Burkinabes documents which copies are in my office and central office respectively.
Nimba is among the 15 counties that has 14 crossing points, and five are recognized by government in terms of revenue collection.
The five borders are: Ganta, Yekepa, Gbblorplay, Butuo , Loguatuo along with nine sub ports that are not recognized considered as sub ports bordering Guinea and Ivory Coast.
