Turkey Mining Company MNG Gold Liberia will today March 2 break ground for the construction of a proposed Kokoyah Statutory District Health Center ( KSD Health Center) in Sayewheh Town, Boinsen District, Bong County.
The construction of the Health Center for Kokoyah is part of MNG Gold Liberia’s Corporate Social Responsibility as enshrined in the MOU negotiated by the Kokoyah Development Steering Committee (KDSC ) for direct social benefits for Kokoyah.
The health center construction according to the Public Relation Officer of the company, Lloyd Ngwayah and the Government’s personnel Eugene JM Kollie is financed by MNG Liberia and is expected to be completed on or before December 31, 2020. When completed, the health center will cater to Kokoyah, parts of Upper Bong, Nimba and Grand Bassa Counties.
The ground breaking ceremony will be witnessed by residents of the District including the County Authorities headed by Superintendent Esther Walker in Sayewheh Town, Boinsen District.
Town is one of the affected towns around the mining region in Bong County.
Lloyd Eugene told our reporter that early 2020, MNG will rebuild the damaged MNG’s school buildings in David Deans Town; rehabilitated up to 45 kilometers of road from Kokoyah Camp between Sayewheh & David Dean Towns through Mano Waisue Town, Jorguelleh District #2 to the Blameyea & Kokoyah Road Junction, near Gbarnga; 20 kilometers road from Sayewheh Town, Bahn Town, Yolo Town and Quoikapor Town toward Kpaii District; installed concrete culverts, repaired damaged bridges and rehabilitated over 50 hand pumps in towns and villages around the company’s mining region.
“We also constructed few hand pumps at needy public schools and clinics in Kokoyah Statutory District in addition to the health center construction and our annual scholarship funds, direct social development funds and volunteer teacher’s payments directly to Kokoyah,” the MNG Gold PRO added.
He also lauded the National Bureau of Concession & UNDP for the establishment of the Peace Building Program sponsored Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP)’s Leeseah Advocacy Network in the district.
It can be recalled that in September 7, 2019 the National Bureau of Concession NBC in collaboration with partners established another branch of the Multi- Stakeholders Platform MSP in mineral rich Kokoyah District in Bong County.
The Multi- Stakeholders Platform intends to cement cordial relationship between MNG Gold Mining Company Liberia and residents of the affected communities in the district.
The project also seeks to enhance peace, security and support to undertakings in that part of the county.
“MNG Gold Liberia, Inc. is a member of the AVESORO Group of Companies base in Turkey which is an established company with vast investments in various countries in addition to the numerous contacts it is fulfilling.
