Imageliberia To Intensify With Fight Against Coronavirus … Launches “We Stand With China Campaign”

Ahumanitarian NGO, Imageliberia, has declared the Coronavirus as a ‘Global Enemy’, and should not be given any preference.
In a statement captioned, “We Stand With China”, Imageliberia Executive Director, Edwin G. Wandah expressed frustration over the rapid spread of the disease and regrets the series of deaths it had caused.
“We are disturbed by this; for every time you put on the news, the number of death rates are sky rocketing. This is unacceptable; the world can’t afford to lose people; I mean good and productive people like the Chinese and others; we are very troubled by this,” he stated.
“We like to declare this disease a global enemy and should not be given credence,” he added.
Consoling the Government and people of China, the Imageliberia boss urged all Liberians to observe the first week in March as the week of Prayer for China and admonished them to keep focused, adding that the painful moments can be over if only the world comes together to act.
“This is the time for everyone to act; this is the time for all of us to hold hands and pray for China; the deaths are unnecessary; the deaths are unacceptable; the cries in China are very hurtful; let’s come together and combat this monstrous virus,” he stated.
Mr. Wandah lauded the efforts of the United States and other International partners in the fight against this menacing deadly virus and added that more is needed to be done. “I hail the U.S. Government and other world leaders; they are doing tremendous well in the fight against the disease, but I would like to encourage them to increase their support,” he stated.
Talking about China’s supports to Liberia, the Imageliberia boss said, The Jackson Fiah-Doe Regional Hospital in Tapeta, Nimba County, the University of Liberia Fendell Campus and the Health Ministry building in Congo Town as well as the renovation of the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex along with the building of the Ministerial Complex in Montserrado County are some of the efforts made by the Chinese Government.
He further stated that his organization is proud to point at the state of the art Terminal built at the Roberts Internationals Airport-RIA as some of the efforts made by China to help Liberia get on par with modern day’s development.
He also named the newly built Annex at the John F. Kennedy and the Redemption Hospital, China Union projects in Bong Mines, and other kilo meter roads built by the Chinese which shows China’s quest to have a firm and a mutual relationship with Liberia, something he believes should not go unnoticed.
Meanwhile, Edwin is calling on all well-meaning Liberians to observe the first week of March to be climaxed on the first Sunday in March to pray for China as a way of showing their solidarity for them. According to him, the campaign should first start with the Government of Liberia, to be followed by all Liberians.
“We are inviting all Liberians to observe the first Week in March, 2020, to pray for China. There are hundreds and thousands of Chinese and other nationals who have died from the deadly Coronavirus disease,” he stated.
“This is the time to act; we need to get on our knees and pray for China, our actions will show the success of what we mean. China is suffering; the Chinese are dying on a daily basis; we need to join them and they should not go through this enigma alone,” he pointed out.
“Imageliberia will remain indoor on the First of March to pray for China; that was what we did during the deadly Ebola outbreak. We saw the assistance of China and the rest of the world; we won’t allow them to go through this alone; it is pay-back time, let’s come together to show our love and care,” he averred.
