Monrovia, Liberia Feb. 24, 2020 –Marpu Dhaliwal, a local businesswoman recently admitted in an interview in a local newspaper that she is a Liberian but our investigation has discovered several factors to the contrary.
Dossier of documents in the possession of the Inquirer newspaper speaks to the contrary on her nationality and questionable properties acquired by her. There is a current battle between Mohinder P. Dahaliwal family and Marpu P. Dhaliwal.
It was reported in a local daily that she debunked claims that she is not a Liberian to claim property. “I am a Liberian. I was born here and have a right to an estate” among other things she stated.
The Inquirer Newspaper has gathered hard facts that, “Marpu” as she is affectionately called, is the daughter of the late Mohinder Rajminder Dhaliwal, a former Indian businessman.
A document from the superior court of New Jersey Chancery Division Probate Part Somerset County docket No. 07-00182 in the matter of the Estate of Rajminder Dhaliwal, Deceased relating to a Civil Action quotes his Affidavit as follows:
“Mohinder Dhaliwal, of full age, upon his oath deposes and says: I am the natural father of both Paramjit Dhaliwal (“Pami”) and Hardeep Dhaliwal, (“Hardeep”) the petitioner and respondent respectively in the above matter, and the former husband of the late Rajminder Dhaliwal (“Rajminder”) . I have read the affidavits of my son and daughter, including the reply affidavit of my daughter as to which documents I offer the following facts and responses. Rajminder and I were married in India in 1960. We divorced in 1973. Nevertheless, from 1991 until 1998 my ex-wife and I although divorced, lived together in Highland Park, New Jersey, and at 33 Millstone Rd, Somerest, New Jersey, with our daughter Pami.”
The said Affidavit of Mohinder Dhaliwal, was dated on April 25, 2007 in Response to Affidavit of Hardeep Dhaliwal, and in support of order to show cause.
Additionally, a document from the US Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection file number A79731109 dated March 6, 2008 indicated that she was born in India on November 1, 1971, a copy of the said document and a passport of both Indian and Liberia Nationality is published inside this paper.
The Homeland Security document among other things stated that, she claimed asylum under her Liberian identity (Marpu Dhaliwal). “She was denied and ordered removed by an IJ in Newark, NJ on 02/04/1998. A#73594840.”
Further, “The order is still in effect. She then purposely and fraudulently concealed the facts of the asylum claim and subsequent deportation order from USCIS when she adjusted status to legal permanent resident as the daughter of a USC on December 15, 2005”.
The said Homeland security document in our possession also indicated that she admitted to the above facts acknowledging that she misrepresented the fact that she was a Liberian National when she applied for asylum.
Marpu was then charged for inadmissible under section 212 (a), (6) (c) I, Fraud Misrepresentation and Section 212 (a) (7) (A)(B)(I) as Immigrant without an immigrant Visa of the INA. “The Subject will be detained at Elizabeth Detention facility pending the hearing” among other things the Homeland Security document stated.
The investigation continues.
