For Allegedly Beating DEA Official: Man, 32, Others Jailed

The Monrovia City Court has charged and sent to court a man identified as Peach Bility and two others for allegedly flogging the Chief of Operations of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Darius Davis, at the Miami Beach in Monrovia.
Defendants Varney Kiazolu and Alfred Weah were for arrested for aggravated assault while defendant Peach Bility was arrested for illegal possession of physical object (gun) in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14.20 and Chapter 17, Section 17, Section 17.11 of the Revised Penal Law.
According to police charge sheet, on February 9, stated that Darius Davis, Augustine Wohn and Darius’ fiancée Joetta went on the Maima Beach to entertain themselves.
The investigation revealed that after having few bottles of drinks, Davis and Wohn decided to swim in the lagoon but victim Davis swum across the lagoon with the intent of using the back gate to get back on the beach and was stopped by defendant Kiazolu who was in charge but he (Davis) chose to force his way onto the beach thereby resulting into a tussle.
The investigation established that while the tussle was going on, some of the beach workers joined the fight against the victim, which claimed Darius’ colleagues attention to also join the fight and in the process, Wohn’s side-arm was taken by the victim who was allegedly hit with a stick by defendant Kiazolu thus causing the gun to drop.
The investigation further stated that after victim Davis was hit and fell with the gun, defendant Weah allegedly started chopping him with a cutlass, causing him and his colleague to sustained injuries.
The investigation stressed that defendant Bility knowing fully well that the gun is a service gun, elected to take the gun from the scene to another.
