Recounting The Activities Of An Astute Liberian Diplomat -The Professional Life Of Mr. Napoleon Toquie

Mr. Napoleon Toquie, II, is a Liberian Diplomat currently serving as First Secretary & Consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia to the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland with a wealth of experience and who brought numerous benefits to his homeland. He was recently recalled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for consultation for re-assignment.

As a dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic and honest person who is willing to go to the extra mile for his country, Mr. Toquie has represented the Republic of Liberia for years at foreign meetings of the International Coffee and Cocoa Organization (LCCO), representing LPMC.

Before leaving Liberia to serve abroad as a diplomat, he had served in several key positions in Public Sector Organizations including as Executive Director and Board member of LTC and LPRC respectively; he also served in positions at Agriculture, Education and at the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).

The former Chairperson of the People’s Democratic Party of Liberia (PDPL) and ex-National Secretary General of the Liberia Unification Party (LUP), this diplomat has proven exceptionally well in leadership and management skills for which he has won admiration in the public, international, private and political arenas of society.

As a statesman, Toquie was privileged and honored to serve as a signatory to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) on August 18, 2003 in Accra, Ghana along with the Chairperson of the Interim National Transitional Government of Liberia (INTGL), Gyude Bryant.

This historic event which every true statesman and diplomat would highly cherish brought an end to the 14-years civil crisis and brought peace to his beloved country and fellow citizens.

This lustrous son of the soil, honest and hardworking gentleman with some 43 years of national service to his credit, is only anticipating his re-assignment to return to what he does best, by using his energy, time and experience in serving his country as a diplomat.

During his ongoing many years of national and diplomatic service, the Liberian diplomat has met several prominent people throughout the world including the former US President, Barack Obama and the Catholic Pope Francis, in Vatican, Rome.

Born on December 1, 1958 in River Gee County, Mr. Toquie spent his entire childhood up to the time he graduated from secondary school in Harper City, Maryland County. He is a devoted Catholic and a family man, married with several children.
