The Pastor-in-Charge of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fanti Town Central Matadi, Rev. Bartholomew B. Colley has extended invitation to all his hundreds of parishioners for the celebration of an annual homecoming event.
According to a release issued by the Organizing Committee, the 2024 homecoming event, which marks the maiden edition at the Church, will be held under the Theme: “Returning Home to Build God’s Kingdom Together”, with concurrent reference texts taken from Luke 15:11-32 and Genesis 33.
In an exclusive interview with this medium, Rev Colley unraveled the primary purposes of the homecoming. First, the man of God made reference to “Fostering Fellowship”, with the goal of reuniting with both old and new members as a way of deepening bonds and encouraging active participation in the life and ministry of the parish.
The second purpose for the 2024 homecoming, as discussed by the clergy man, is aimed at “Supporting Parish Development”, with the goal of inspiring collective efforts towards the growth and development of projects that enhance the mission of the parish.
The homecoming event, which targets approximately over hundred participants, is meanwhile interspersed with a week of spiritual revival at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Central Matadi.
According to the itinerary available to this outlet, Thursday and Friday, December 5-6, 2024 will be characterized by revival evening service each day.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024 marks the biggest event of the week with indoor and outdoor activities, with sharp eyed details on brief worship service, a reflection session to be climaxed with food sale and games.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, a document from the organizing committee says activities spicing up the three-day event will also include fundraising rally, special recognition for returning members, pastor/minister appreciation, opportunities for fellowship and reflection and formal closing.
In the epistolary closure of the invitation which calls on all to be an integral part of this historic homecoming event, Rev. Bartholomew B. Colley prays for God’s abundant grace and blessings upon all participants and their families, adding “May this season of Advent fill your heart with peace, love, and renewed faith.”
