“Your Coming To Power Is An Error” -CDC Tells UP

By Bill W. Cooper
The Chairperson of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Janga Kowo has criticized the Unity Party government for what her termed “poor” handling of the state of affairs of the country.
Within 11 months of his presidency, Chairman Kowo said the election victory that brought the UP back in government was an “accident or error;” something he said, the CDC is determine and ready to correct in 2029.
“Their coming to power was an error. You people thought that they have learned from their twelve years’ mistakes, but they have failed miserable just under one year,” he noted.
Serving as guest speaker at the third National emergency convention of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), Kowo also alleged that under one year, the ruling UP have failed to live up to its promises to the citizenry, something he said is a clear demonstration of the Party’s alleged inability to lead.
He maintained, “UP has no plan to move the country forward, all of their endeavors they have embarked upon ranging from the issue of the 22km road, to the 200 buses, 285 yellow machines and the 25 million scholarships among others are clear indications that the UP government failed the people.”
Even though the UP is running its government under the plan pillar of the “ARREST” Agenda, Mr. Kowo has since claimed and maintained that the ruling establishment has no plan to move the country forward like was done during the government of CDC.
According to him, the ruling government came to power due to some circumstances which he did not mention but reechoed and claimed that they don’t have the mantle of authority to govern better than the UP has done and is doing.
The CDC Chairman further made reference to the current impasse at the Legislature, indicating that such a situation is gradually taking the country into a constitutional crisis, thus accusing President Boakai of being the masterminded.
“UP government is bend on violating the constitution which they promise to uphold evidence of siding with the quote and unquote majority block at the House by providing security for the majority block speaker even though, they are in flagrant violation of the constitution,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Kowo also accused President Boakai and his officials of their involvement into series of human rights violations since it took the mantle of authority of the country.
He named the alleged killings of innocent citizens at Kinjor in Grand Cape Mount County as well as the illegal eviction of the CDC’s headquarters on August 5 and 20, 2024 respectively among others.
Kowo used the occasion to rally other opposition parties, including MOVEE, to work and capitalized on the mistakes of the UP government, in order for them to boot the UP out of power in 2029 in a democratic manner and form.
“And this will require planning something that you have already started as such, I want to commend you all for this great initiative, and the National political discourse will only be stronger once the constituents’ members are also strong,” he added.
