Mr. Sylvester Tevez Nah said to be the accomplice of Henry Costa in the procurement of the Liberian Citizen Travel Certificate known as Laissez-Passez is reportedly in the protective custody of the Immigration Services.
He is reported to have handed himself over last week following the departure from the country by Henry Costa to the United States by way of Sierra Leone.
Last week, the Immigration claimed to have begun probing circumstances leading to how Costa acquired an alleged “forged travel document” which he used to enter Liberia on Thursday, December19 last year.
It was said that Costa, who arrived in the country using the Liberian Citizen Travel Certificate known as laissez-passez, obtained the document from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the assistance of Nah.
Tevez is expected to aid the team of investigators at the Liberia Immigration Service on the circumstances leading to the procurement of the Liberian Citizen Travel Certificate, LIS spokesperson Abraham Dorley told the media in Monrovia.
Costa, who is the main actor involved with the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the Liberian travel document, absconded immigration investigation and fled to neighboring Sierra Leone on Tuesday, January 14, claiming that his life was threatened by the government, an allegation that has since been denied.
Costa was due to appear at the headquarters of the Immigration Services on Wednesday, January 15, along with his lawyer, Finley Karngar, but did not honor the appointment as he had already fled the country and now in the United States.
However, Karngar, who showed up late Wednesday at the headquarters of the Services, said he was instructed by the Immigration to appear at its Headquarters on a daily basis until he can produce his client along with the accomplice, Sylvester Tevez Nah.
He argued that the decision by the Immigration to give such instruction is sad, noting that the decision is intended to curtail his freedom.
