A truck carrying marketers was involved in a tragic accident leaving three dead and several wounded on the Gompa-Monrovia highway.
The Police disclosed the deaths of the three with several persons reportedly wounded and are undergoing medical treatment at E & J Medical Health Center in Gompa.
According to the LNP, the accident occurred November 11, 2024, between Nimba and Bong counties around Kpen Township.
“The truck was coming from Gblor Kweepea Town with marketers towards Monrovia with local commodities but the driver is on the run,” the police explained.
During a normal routine at the police station in Gompa, the Mack six tyres truck bearing plate number C-3983 is now parked at the police station with broken glasses.
When the Police Traffic Division in Gompa was contacted, traffic commander Amos Miaway confirmed the deaths of three of the passengers with seven wounded and are currently seeking medical attention.
Miaway identified the three dead as Roger Cooper, Lydia Nyanquoi, and Yei Domah.
“Among the seven who got wounded and undergoing medical treatment include, victim Josephus Suomie, whose condition was described by medical personnel as critical and therefore was transferred to JFK Medical Center in Monrovia,” the traffic commander disclosed.
“We are in search of the driver or truck owner for us to start with the investigation,” Police revealed.
