The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) is calling on Representatives to adhere to the rule of law and prays that each party sees reason to put the interest of Liberians first.
The Council, in a release issued late yesterday, October 30, said it has begun negotiations among parties in the ongoing leadership crisis at the House of Representatives aimed at finding a solution to the impasse that is gradually affecting the workings of the Legislature.
The ongoing interventions follow two separate meetings with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fonati Koffa and his colleagues seeking his removal.
During the meetings, the leadership of the Liberia Council of Churches heard from both parties and acknowledged that each party stands for accountability, transparency, and the improvement of the lives of the Liberian people through the respect for the rule of law.

meanwhile, the Council, however, affirmed its position to the parties in the separate meetings that it stands for accountability, the rule of law, peace and national reconciliation.
At the same time, the Council has reiterated its commitment to transparency as it continues the ongoing dialogue among members of the House of Representatives.
The Liberia Council of Churches commended the parties for the courtesy accorded members of the Council and expressed its commitment to continuous prayers as it intervenes to bring the quagmire at the Capitol to a fruitful end the confusion.
The release which was signed by the president of the LCC and acting president of the Inter-Religious Council, Samuel B. Reeves, also calls on the general public to remain calm and prays that sanity returns to the Legislature.
