The Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Sekou A.M. Dukuly, has officially commissioned a new fleet of vehicles to bolster operations at all four NPA ports Freeport of Monrovia, Buchanan Port, Greenville Port, and Harper Port.
This strategic move is focused on boosting operational efficiency, increasing high performance and enhancing employees’ morale across the Network.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony over the weekend at the NPA Headquarters during the display of the vehicle, NPA Managing Director Dukuly praised the workforce for their dedication and hard work, highlighting their role in driving productivity and ensuring high-quality services across the ports.
“The procurement of these vehicles is just one of the many initiatives to support workforce development. More is planned to strengthen the NPA’s contribution to Liberia’s economic growth,” Dukuly stressed.
Dukuly further called on the workforce to cooperate diligently in advancing the agenda of President Joseph Boakai, with the shared goal of making Liberia a better place for all its citizens.
He emphasized that 95% of the country’s GDP comes through the NPA and as such the entity plays a pivotal role in the economic growth of Liberia.
Dukuly added that the NPA remains dedicated to fulfilling its mission of enhancing Liberia’s port facilities and creating sustainable economic growth through expanded trade routes and improved logistical networks.
Earlier, the NPA Executive Director for Procurement, Charles Massalay, thanked MD Dukuly’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a competitive and transparent procurement process, which facilitated the acquisition of the new vehicles.
The fleet, which consists of eleven pickup carbines, a fire truck and a state-of-the-art ambulance, was handed over to Senior Management by the Senior Director for Transport, John Siaway.
Mr. Siaway said in his 18 years of service at the NPA as fleet manager, this is the first time the Management of the NPA has purchased an ambulance that will benefit its employees.
He assured the management that the fleet would be properly maintained by the Transport Department.
The Deputy Managing Director for Operations, Emmanuel Horton, received the keys on behalf of the Senior Management and expressed gratitude to the Procurement and Transport Departments for their efforts.
He emphasized the continued support of the NPA’s leadership in improving the institution’s operations.
