Fassell FC and Al Shorta SC Battle to 2-2 Draw in Egypt

Liberian football club Fassell FC showcased resilience as they held Iraqi champions Al Shorta SC to an exciting 2-2 draw in a friendly match during their pre-season camp in Egypt.
The match served as a vital test for both teams, with Al Shorta SC using the fixture as part of their preparations for the upcoming Asian Elite Championship, domestic league, and cup competitions.
The game also provided Fassell FC, who are gearing up for the new Liberian league season in October, with an opportunity to fine-tune their tactics and build team cohesion.
Al Shorta SC started the match with a strong lineup, featuring key players like Mohamed Karim in goal and team captain Fahad Youssef.
Despite this, Fassell FC managed to match their opponents’ intensity, responding swiftly after going down to an early goal from Jordanian forward Mohamed Sharara.
Fassell FC equalized 30 minutes into the first half and added another five minutes later, only for Al Shorta to level the score again shortly after halftime through substitute Mohamed Dawood.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the second half, but neither could break the deadlock, leading to a 2-2 draw.
This draw marked Fassell FC’s second in their pre-season tour, following a 1-1 result against JKU SC. As they continue their preparations in Egypt, Fassell FC is focused on building momentum ahead of the Liberian league’s kickoff in October.
Meanwhile, Al Shorta SC will look to build on their performance as they approach a demanding season with high expectations on the continental and domestic fronts. The match highlighted Fassell FC’s determination and ability to compete against top-tier opposition, giving their fans hope for a successful season ahead.
