The renowned philanthropist, Upjit Singh Sachdeva, has once again brought joy to the hearts of over 3,000 children in Weala, Margibi County, following the hosting of Liberia’s independence party for the kids.
The Indian business tycoon, popularly known as Jeety, during a well-attended party, also identified with the children through the provision of hot cooked meals and toys at his Rubber LLC facility in the county.
The event, which took place on July 26, 2023, in observance of the country’s 177th anniversary, was a powerful reminder of the spirit of compassion and unity that continues to thrive in the nation.
As the clock struck evening, the air was filled with excitement as Jeety made his grand entrance, accompanied by a group of staff and media practitioners.
Jeety, known for his selfless contributions to society, fed the children with cooked jollof rice, chicken, soft drinks, and water at the facility, filling them with hope, laughter, and renewed optimism.
The event also featured an array of engaging activities tailored to uplift the spirits of the children, as some kids did live performances through dancing and singing to entertain the crowd and Jeety.
In his opening speech, Jeety emphasized the need for the children, whom he described the country’s future leaders, to be celebrated and catered to, disclosing that he and team are committed to ensuring that smiles are put on the faces of the children every big day.
The impact of Jeety’s initiatives extended far beyond the confines of a single day.
The Independence Day celebrations have become a catalyst for change, inspiring individuals and communities to come together in the pursuit of a brighter future.
Jeety’s dedication to empowering children, as well as incarcerated and marginalized populations across Monrovia and other counties, serves as a reminder that everyone deserves a chance at redemption, and a life filled with dignity.
In response to Jeety’s gesture, community dwellers thanked the Indian business tycoon for his selfless contributions to society, including Weala, which they said was practically a neglected community.
They further described the hosting of the July 26 party for their children as a gift from Jeety that will forever be remembered and cherished by every citizen and/or parent residing in the area.
Meanwhile, earlier during the day, Jeety also feed over 2,000 inmates at the Monrovia Central Prison as well as disadvantaged youths on Center Street in Monrovia as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
At the Monrovia Central Prison, widely known as ‘South beach,’ Jeety also fed thousands of inmates with hot cooked food as well as soft drinks and sachets of water.
He also took along a cartoon of cake, among others which he also divided among over 700 underprivileged youth on that same day.
Meanwhile, Jeety’s dedication to helping others stemmed from his own humble beginnings growing up in his hometown in India where according to himself, he faced many challenges and obstacles that could have easily derailed his path to success.
However, through hard work, determination, and the support of his parents, Jeety was able to overcome these challenges and build a successful business empire across Liberia, with the biggest being his newly state-of-the-art rubber factory in Weala, Margibi County.
It is apparent that after a successful businessman, Jeety is using his resources to give back to those who are faced with similar struggles and through his philanthropist gesture; he has created job opportunities for several Liberians at his businesses.
At the same time, he called on other business tycoons and philanthropists to buttress his effort by creating more opportunities for disadvantaged youth and ensuring that everyone has access to a better life.
In remarks, the Monrovia Central Prison Superintendent, Varney Lake, extolled Jeety and his team for the identifying with the inmates on the day and every other day; a gesture he described as one in a million.
