PCC Supports Orphanages For Independence Day Celebration

The Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) has extended support to 15 orphanages across the city.
The orphanages benefiting from the initiative include Frances Gaskin Rescue Home for Children, Rock of Divine Children Home and Academy, Love a Child Orphanage Home, New Covenant and Dream Hospitality Ministry, and Amazing Grace Orphanage Home, among others.
Led by Mayor Robert S. Bestman, the PCC distributed essential supplies, including food and clothing last week.
The aid packages, comprising bags of rice, gallons of oil, and cartons of clothes, aim to provide relief to children in the orphanages.
Mayor Bestman highlighted that the donations were part of the corporation’s efforts to stand in solidarity with the less fortunate, ensuring they also partake in the Independence Day celebrations.
“These donations are the city corporation’s way of identifying with our less fortunate population so that they too can have something to eat and clothes to wear as the country celebrates its independence,” Mayor Bestman stated.
He underscored the importance of not neglecting orphanages, noting their crucial role in nurturing individuals who later contribute significantly to society.
Mayor Bestman also revealed plans for similar initiatives targeting the elderly population within the city.
The heads of the recipient orphanages expressed their gratitude, noting that the donations arrived at a critical time as many of them struggle to provide for the children without external assistance.
The PCC also acknowledged the generosity of local donors, including the Paynesville Business Association (PABA), G2 Pharmacy, Eagle Electricals, United Group Supply Inc., Junction Shopping Center, Karma Mart, B&J, Alpha Jalloh 101, and Hashim & Sons, whose contributions made the distribution possible.
