The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Down Town FC, a third division side based in central Monrovia, has called on his team’s head coach, technical staff and players to strive for a win or draw in their upcoming away match against Kandakai FC.
This crucial encounter in the Liberia Football Association’s national third division regional playoff is set to take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the LFA-recognized sports ground in the township of Medina, Gaola District, Grand Cape Mount County.
CEO Pokah Roberts addressed his team members at their training ground recently in Monrovia, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rules of the game while aiming for a positive result.
He stressed that securing either a victory or a draw is vital for Down Town FC’s continual progress in the regional playoff and their ultimate goal of qualifying for the LFA second division.
“First of all, I want to thank Coach Jaspa Koon, his technical staff and the players for getting us to the LFA third division regional playoff,” Roberts said.
“Now, I urge you to give your best effort and aim for either a victory or a draw against Kandakai FC in Cape Mount County. This will give us a strategic advantage for the return leg in Monrovia. I wish us all success in our quest to reach the LFA second division,” he added.
On the other side, Kandakai Football Club’s Technical Director, Stephen Acquoi, acknowledged the challenge ahead but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform.
He encouraged his players to replicate the ball possession and finishing touches they displayed during the just ended league season that got them securing a spot in the playoff.
In another LFA regional playoff match in Cape Mount County, Kermokai FC from the LFA Browerville Sub-Committee in Monrovia will face Kon Town FC from Cape Mount County on July 4, 2024.
Kermokai FC’s CEO urged his team to leave no stone unturned in their quest for LFA’s second division qualification, starting with a strong performance in their away match.
Meanwhile, Kon Town FC’s Sports Director, Ousman Pusah, called on his players to maintain their tactical ball possession to secure a convincing win.
He also urged all Cape Mountanians to support Kon Town FC in their crucial home fixture.
The outcome of these matches will play a significant role in determining which teams advance towards the coveted LFA second division stage in Liberian football.
