District Education Officer (DEO) Esther Kpan , has frowned on the poor performance of several senior high schools in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.
DEO Kpan, told the Inquirer in Sanniquellie over the weekend that three senior high schools in the district performed dismally i n (WASSC) last academic 2018-2019 with shame and disgrace to the school system in the county.
The DEO further stated that, despite the lack of laboratories in senior high schools in the district, three of the senior high schools never performed to the expectation of the Ministry of Education in the county.
The DEO added, that measures have been put in place to close down sub-standard schools that lack qualified teachers to teach science courses like, math, biology, physics and chemistry.
The Sanniquellie DEO Kpan, is now the acting County Education Oofficer (CEO) replacing suspended (CEO) Moses Dologbay.
The acting CEO said volunteer teachers employed by PTA is on the increase in many of the public schools due to shortages of trained teachers in the county.
