“No Money In Accounts”-Sanniquellie Mayor Reveals

By Solomon T Gaye
Sanniquellie City Mayor Zramein Zinor, over the weekend, broke silence over the discovery of a zero balanced bank account for the City Cooperation in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.
Zinor disclosed that the turnover note from the outgoing Mayor, Moima Kamara, indicated a zero balance in both the LD and the USD bank accounts respectively.
According to Mayor Zinor, the city cooperation has embarked on cleaning up campaign on the main street and in other communities in Sanniquellie.
“The Sanniquellie City Cooperation is appealing to the government and international NGOs operating in the country to extend their services and as well renovate the unfinished city hall in Sanniquellie,” Mayor Zinor appealed.
“No public land now; people are building houses all over at the old army barrack, the airfield community, Lake teleh, in the name of squatter right that was allegedly provided to the builders by the outgoing mayor Moima Kamara,” Mayor Zinor expressed.
“Sanniquellie City Cooperation lacks burial sites, dump sites and vehicles and this is hampering the smooth running of the cooperation due lack of funds,” Mayor Zinor asserted.
Mayor Kamara was among outgoing city mayors that allegedly refused to turn over their offices to administrative assistants as mandated by former President Weah, on grounds that she was appointed by President Weah with a letter.
This is the second allegation against outgoing Mayor Kamara since she left office in less than three months.
During the beginning of September 2023, many of the residents in Sanniquellie accused the outgoing mayor of allegedly selling public land to many of the residents in the name of squatter right.
Mayor Zinor replaces the outgoing Mayor Kamara.
