The founder and former Executive Director of Justice Forum Liberia, Maxson Kpakio, has commended President Boakai for taking a bold step in keeping his promise made during the 2023 electoral campaign, relative to supporting the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia.
Ambassador Kpakio, who is one of the strongest advocates and devoted his time since 2009 in the quest of campaigning and ensuring that the act of impunity is dealt with, expressed his gratitude to the government under the stewardship of President Joseph N. Boakai for his landmark and historical decision taken.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Kpakio also reiterated his call to the Liberian Government and President Boakai, to visit all mysterious death cases that occurred during the last six years, including the case of the More Than Me organization of Miss Katie Meyler of America.
Speaking via a telephone conversation from the United Kingdom, Ambassador Maxson Kpakio reminded the government that the revisitation of these cases will lead the government to a great fight against impunity and will also help to bring about peace and closure in many homes that are still fragile due to the barbaric incidents that were perpetrated by individuals who could still be living among their victims.
At the same time, Maxson Kpakio has frowned on individuals who were in positions to have ensured that justice is served but failed to do so for their personal quests.
He said, “Once again, I’m appealing to President Boakai to constitute a special presidential task force that will be able to critically review mysterious death cases, including the late auditors, the three missing boys, Odell Sharman, Melvin Earley, the late EPS agent, and others.
