Many well-meaning Liberians both home and abroad came together to celebrate the 60th birthday anniversary of Bishop Johnson, who is the head of the Restoration Baptist Church on the Old Road.
The ceremony was held on the compound of the Restoration Baptist Church, well decorated with flowers, and the colors of the ceremony were gold and black.
Bishop Johnson is an astute statesman, humanitarian, and a tough-talking minister of the gospel with distinction.
Prior to giving his birthday speech, Bishop Johnson displayed two different types of plum, namely, German and country plums.
Bishop Johnson disclosed that many times people go after the German plum because it has foreign name and so is the case of Liberian citizens who prefer foreigners over their own citizens.
On the other hand, Bishop Johnson said, most people don’t go after the country plum because it’s their own and disappointing; it’s hated because of its thread that hitches in people’s tooth, and then called on Liberians to love their own over foreigners.
The special ceremony was well attended by church members, government officials, religious leaders, family members, the media, and friends.
The former Vice president, Jewel Howard Taylor, delivered the welcome statement at the Restoration Baptist Church compound.
During the vibrant program, Bishop Joseph Johnson III, who was celebrating his 60th birthday, received numerous gifts and good wishes from those in attendance, and expressed his gratitude to everyone who came to celebrate with him.
“I am thankful for the wonderful birthday wishes. Your love and support bring me immense joy and I feel truly blessed to have all of you in my life.
Their tributes highlighted the importance of consistent leadership. In a world filled with uncertainties, maintaining consistency in leadership is essential for progress and hope.”
Bishop Johnson encouraged all leaders to strive for consistency in their actions, decisions, and values.
Bishop Johnson said, most pastors are after enriching themselves and pay less attention to the development and well-being of their members.
This commitment will ensure accountability, reliability, and dedication to the people they lead. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made his birthday celebration memorable, emphasizing that their presence meant the world to him.
However, Bishop Johnson vowed not to attend any pastoral meetings if said meeting doesn’t have plan for the well-being of Liberian citizens.
He added that Liberia is blessed with natural resources, but its citizens are living in abject poverty and being treated as slaves.
“People who should have rescued Liberia twelve years ago are now talking about rescuing Liberia,” the tough-talking man of God lamented.
