Rep. Koffa Condemns ‘General-Power’

An ex-fighter known as General-Power is receiving intellectual bullets due to his recent comments – which the public described as inimical and counterproductive to the over nearly two decades of interrupted peace in Liberia.
Last week, General Power, who is said to be in the rank of the national security appeared on Prime FM divulging that he will rally members of the Kru Speaking tribe under the canopy of “ Kru Defense Force” to protect President George Weah Manneh.
General Power said he has the capacity to do that-while boasting of his past history doing the 14year of revolt- where Liberian organized themselves in different tribal groups that killed over 250,000 Liberians.
General Power noted that his statement was being triggered by what he called unabated attacks against the presidency-while warning District #10 Representative Kekeh Kolubah to desist from attacking the President or else will be considered as one term lawmaker.
According to him he has over 9,000 ex-soldiers that reside in district #10 that he has control over. “If Kekeh does not stop attacking the President, he will be a one term lawmaker. I can assure him- we will vote him out come 2023,” Gen. Power stated.
Speaking to this paper’s legislative reporter yesterday, a member of the Grand Kru County Legislative Caucus, and the chairperson on the House’s Judiciary Committee, Representative Fonati Koffa has distanced the people of Grand Kru from such statement made by General Power.
He said while it is true that the people of Grand Kru support President George Weah not only as their son but as President of the Republic of Liberia, will not be involved into any ‘formation’ to defend any Liberian.
In his condemnation, he called on all well-meaning citizens in Liberia to condemn General Power’s assertion –stating that such assertion is a war drum.
