NAA Former President Wants Liberia Airways Reactivated

The former president of the National Aviation Association (NAA) of Liberia, Joseph D.C. Jaycheneh, is calling on the President Joseph N. Boakai-led government to prioritize the reactivation of the national airline (Liberia Airways).
Jaycheneh pointed out that the reactivation of the national airline will create more job opportunities for Liberians in all aspects of aviation and speed up the growth of economy of the nation.
He charged that the aviation sector is practically dead due to the neglect of the institution by past governments, noting that, “If the aviation sector was given the needed attention, we would have attracted and trained our own home-grown pilots.”
It can be recalled that for over decades, the Air Transport System (ATS) has been dormant with no direct support from the government to maintain the institution.
The National Aviation Association (NAA) of Liberia was established on November 9, 1986 by a group of professionals in the Aviation industry of Liberia and Semi-professionals, to explore avenues geared toward facilitating programs for its members to undertake more advanced training courses in all Aviation disciplines to serve the country.
